Gerriets Greece and the 2011 Special Olympics in Athens

Last Summer, Athens hosted the World Summer Games of the 13th Special Olympics. Gerriets is proud to have been involved in this event, in which 7,500 athletes with intellectual disabilities participated, representing 180 countries around the world.

The opening and closing ceremonies featured a variety of Collection products furnished by our subsidiary, Gerriets Greece. The stage floor included 1,120 m² of VARIO BRILLIANCE, our high-gloss dance and design floor, as well as 2,100 m² of our anti-skid surface, VARIO GRIP. Other aspects of the stage setting incorporated 520 m² of Stage Mesh, 1,500 m² of Duvetyne R55, and 300 m of black sharkstooth scrim.
